It can be interconnected and customised with standalone balustrade (Sirius) or louver systems.

Typical design features include:

  • Extruded aluminium profiles in a modular configuration for easy installation
  • Posts mechanically fixed to base plates top mounted
  • Extruded elliptical louvers, powder-coated or anodised finish

Powder-coated

Carefully remove any loose surface deposits with a wet sponge. Use a soft brush (non-abrasive) and a dilute solution of a mild detergent, e.g., pH-neutral liquid hand dishwashing detergent in warm water (DO NOT use solvents) to remove dust, salt, and other deposits. Rinse surfaces with clean water after cleaning to remove residue.

Glass

Use a commercial window washing solution or mild soap and water. Uniformly spray or apply the cleaning solution with a soft, grit-free, cloth sponge or pad and Rinse thoroughly. The glass surface should then be wiped dry with a clean grit-free cloth or Squeegeed dry.

Stainless Steel

Use a non-abrasive cloth with warm water for general cleaning. For removing fingerprints, use any glass cleaning products. Towel dry after cleaning to prevent water spotting. Ensuring it is Chloride free, Stainless steel cleaner is acceptable.

Anodised

If regularly maintained, wash down anodised aluminium with warm water containing a suitable wetting agent or with mild soap solution. Hand rubbing is often used for small work for larger projects utensils such as fibre brushes may be more practical.

More difficult grime deposits may require the use of a mild abrasive such as pumice powder and water. Where greasy deposits are concerned, cleaning may require a soft cloth dipped in white spirits.

It is necessary to thoroughly rinse with water after cleaning especially where crevices are present to ensure removal of all residues.

Cleaning requirements will range from monthly to six monthly intervals according to application and environment that the surface is exposed to. The aim of the cleaning operation should be the removal of grime deposited without damage to anodised coating.

For multi-storey or multi-level applications, there are a number of benefits;

  • Single stud fixing halves the installation time required to set studs, this provides efficiencies and consequently reduces costs to owners.
  • Installation of this pre-assembled modular system, removes the need for on-site glazing, which is inefficient and less cost effective, and enables fast installation of the final competed product
  • Highest level commercial compliance rating of C3 means that the Star Metal’s Fully-Framed Balustrade system is suitable for a variety of applications.

Due to its C3 safety rating and versatility it is well suited to a range of applications, including;

  • Shopping centres,
  • Multi-level high density residential
  • Architecturally designed buildings and homes
  • Primary schools and high schools
  • Government buildings – such as hospitals, outdoor public venues and recreations areas
  • Universities
  • Restaurants
  • Aged care facilities
  • Residential (pool fencing, balcony balustrading, privacy screens, fencing)

 ** Powder-coasted and painted handrail products use black steel for fabrication, which is then sandblasted and then a zinc primer coating applied. The powder-coat / paint coat is then applied over the zinc primer creating a dual shield coating with decorative finish.

Alternative configurations are available on request.

Anodised

Anodising is the process of forming a protective coating of aluminium oxide on the surface of aluminium. It is an electrochemical process that transforms the metal surface into a decorative, durable, corrosion-resistant, anodic oxide finish.
